The United Trades and Labor Council of South Australia, now known as SA Unions, formed in 1884.
These minutes are from the council’s first ‘large and representative’ meeting held at the Bristol Tavern in Franklin Street on 31 January that year. It was a coming together of delegates from various trade and labor societies for the purpose of discussing the need to join together to form the United Trades and Labor Council.
