You are among equals

The feminist movement gained momentum in Australia during the 1970s. The United Nations declared 1975 International Women’s Year, which was a cause of women’s rights being firmly on the political agenda.

‘You’re Among Equals’ was an Australian feminist slogan. It was used by Margaret Whitlam, wife of former Prime Minister Gough Whitlam, at a press conference to male journalists following her attendance at the first UN World Conference on Women in Mexico City in 1975.
