To support HASS/Civics & Citizenship education in this COVID-19 teaching environment, please join in for FREE 1hr weekly online professional learning sessions over term 2. The sessions are planned for 4pm on Thursdays.
You will have the opportunity to learn about what digital and support options are available to complement your teaching practice, and ask questions to different organisations in the Civics and Citizenship space.
Platform: Zoom
Join representatives from the YMCA Youth/Junior Parliament, Order of Australia Association, Constitutional Convention and more to learn about opportunities for students to participate in extra-curricular Civics and Citizenship programs.
For our final session we are joined by the City of Adelaide’s Right Honourable Lord Mayor Ms Sandy Verschoor to talk about the role and purpose of local government. Teachers will have the opportunity to ask the Lord Mayor questions to support their understanding of local government, and discover ways they can encourage students to participate in their communities.
How to get involved:
1. Register for specific sessions on Eventbrite and make note of the digital platform being used.
2. Plan your questions.
3. You will be contacted with an invitation to attend on the digital platform.
