The right to vote at the Federal level was extended to all adults.1902

Under the Commonwealth Franchise Act all adults over 21 were given the right to vote at the Federal level. However, the Act specifically excluded any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples unless they were already enrolled in a state.
